Lichtfront is a german design agency.
Lichtfront play all over the world, from the biggest music festivals in Europe like Fib Benicássim, Monegros Desert Festival, Nature One, Mayday, the Love Parade, Timewarp and Creamfields Andalucia to Asian hot-spots such as Zoukout Singapore, Cream Manila and Winterlove Taiwan.

Interview

Here is an interview with Swenja Kübler from Lichtfront about the VIXID video mixer.

How did you discover VIXID VJX16-4 video mixer and why did you choose to use it above other products on the market ?
First we use the edirol. Joerg discovered the Vixid mixer, I guess on Internet. We are interested in Vixid because of Layer mixing and blend modes and of course the input channels.

How are you using it onstage, in a live environment and in the studio?
For the performance with Dj Hell I´m using the mask tool to project only on the face and also every blending method. For our "normal" lichtfront performance we use every tools in the mixer.

How has using this mixer changed the way you work?
Lichtfront are motion designers, so we are using the mixer as a software tool, like photoshop to create our images, our world. With Vixid we are able to create our pictures live at the event. The time before we did a lot of compositing in the company before an event, so... Also the pictures changes a little bit, because we can react more to the music in form of light, colour and speed.

What are the best / biggest / most memorable gigs you've done with the VJX16-4?
We almost did big events ;-) no, jocking. We did also small events. Every event is special, but I think the best event in the last year is the performance in Spain at Monegros and Fib Festival and the gigs with Dj Hell.

What have you got planned for the near future?
Secret!!! But I will know you before it starts.
