The sound, light and video equipment is divided into 2 rooms with 2 atmospheres: the “Black Cat” for the latest house / electro / R & B mixes and “White Mouse” for a come back in the 80s.

Here is an interview with David, VJ of the Chat Noir about the VIXID video mixer.

How did you discover VIXID VJX16-4 video mixer and why did you choose to use it?
We discovered VIXID on the Internet. We chose the VJX16-4 video mixer because it has more video inputs and outputs than what we had before.

How has using this mixer changed the way you work?
First, we use its "battle2*2" mode which allows us to split the VJX16-4 in 2 independent video mixers. Then, what has changed for us is the ergonomics of the mixer which is more user-friendly than the Edirol mixer that we used.

What features do you find most useful? Are there any features you could not work without?
What we appreciated when we began to work with the VJX16-4 is firstly its output signal quality which is clearly better. We also like the multi-layer design that is close to what you can in find in software like after effects, which is a great feature.

What is your typical setup for a live show?
For our parties, we have 3 computers running Resolume and 3 cameras, all connected to the video mixer.

How long did it take to you before being able to use it during a live show?
For us, it did not take more than one day.

What are the best / biggest / most memorable gigs you've done with the VJX16-4?
We are a nightclub and we receive international DJs... Well, there have been many memorable shows like parties with Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, Joachim Garraud, Martin Solveig, Antoine Clamaran, or Laurent Wolf...

What have you got planned for the near future?
We will soon upgrade our video set up by adding more video projectors and outdoors LED panels.

Anything you'd like to add?
Nothing special except that it is a very good mixer.
