DCA-Philippe Decouflé
With Opticon, Decouflé invests La Grande Halle de la Vilette in Paris for six explosive weeks.
From June 6th to July 15th (Paris)
For several years, Decouflé develops within his company DCA a vocabulary of stage effects based on the optical illusion. Duplications, shadows, mirrors or lights, most of them are based on a clever use of technology. For this event, the artist reveals his playful and quirky world and invites visitors to explore, experiment and create through a series of interactive installations incorporating the visual inventions of his shows.
The exhibition is also a retrospective on the company with a presentation of drawings and sketches, films, elements of set designs, costumes and various models.
This is also the opportunity to see two shows: Panorama, a creation that revisits some of the highlights of previous shows, and Solo, danced by Philippe Decouflé as a tribute to fantasy and dance.
Others surprises round out this event: concerts, films, guided tours, dance lessons ...
The company DCA, which uses video mixers VJX16-4 for its last performances, incorporated several mixers in the interactive video installations of Opticon.

LPM 2012
VIXID, official partner of the visual artists meetings
From May 31st to June 3rd in Roma (Italy)
For the second consecutive year, VIXID will be the official partner of the LPM 2012. From May 31st to June 3rd 2012, 505 artists from over 40 countries will play and talk around 265 live performances, workshops and presentations. During these four days, VIXID will be present to discuss with worldwide users and to share freely around the visual creation and technical solutions.
This event will also be an opportunity for everyone to try the VJX16-4 video mixer in real conditions. Each one can come with his video sources (computers, cameras, etc..) and connect to the mixer to discover all the creative possibilities offered by this innovative tool.
Finally, VIXID also sponsors the VJ Torna contest which will see through four different competitions (VJ championship, VJ battle, Pre Production and Best Live Mapper) many performers to compare the styles and techniques. VIXID will offer a set of two video converters: one Mini DisplayPort to video converter and one VGA to video converter.
In this first newsletter of the year, VIXID Launches a new version of the Snapshot Manager software. After a great deal of effort, the software new version brings more flexibility and a lot of improvements to better respond to user requests! SIEL 2012, the professional trade show of staging and event solutions took place the 29, 30 and 31 January 2012 at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, France.
VIXID was present alongside its authorized dealer Audio Sud to present the new version of the Snapshot Manager software. The SIEL visitors were given the pleasure of testing this new software interface for live video production on two big LED screens. With its new software features, the VIXID video system has been acclaimed for the easy-to-use software interface and the video quality of the mixer.
The new version of the software will be available from Wednesday, February 15th with a special offer for both new customers and existing users of the VJX16-4 video mixer. As for those who already have the previous software version, VIXID announced that the upgrade to version 1.2 will be free.

The January 2012 issue of Sonomag features a 7 pages report dedicated to the Chinese Man band tour. With two video beamers broadcasting a 8/3 format widescreen on stage, the 3 DJs and the VJ composing the band create an awesome audio-video live performance.
"The content: images (exclusive or not), made by Fred & Annabelle (the Chinese Man Records label video directors), film or short films sampled by DJ and images captured by seven cameras shooting the turntables, the DJ and the audience. Therefore VJ Tot uses 15 of the 16 inputs of its mixer video!"
